How To Connect Your Jiofi Device To PC Using Through USB Tethering

October 13, 2017 0
We have already explained how to connect to your JioFi MiFi device using WiFi in our earlier posts. As you may already know, the JioFi device is a WiFi enabled Internet device capable of servicing WiFi enabled clients. We have also explained earlier

JioFi USB Tethering via. USB Cable

Once you have configured your JioFi device for the internet, you can straightaway connect it to your PC as well. We tested the device with a Lenovo Ultrabook loaded with Windows 10. Once the device is connected to the PC using a USB cable, we were able to access the internet straight away. The icon on the bottom right-hand corner of your Windows PC taskbar will change to USB-connected internet connection and that’s all you need to do. See the screenshots below for your reference:

When you log in, into the Admin panel from the Web UI by accessing “http://jiofi.local.html/index.htm,” you will see that both the USB and the WiFi clients are being serviced by JioFi simultaneously. See below:

The last device in the list above is the USB connected device, while the first and second devices are WiFi-connected clients. Do note that you can only connect 1 USB client for the internet access at a time, while the rest needs to connect via. WiFi.

Digital Suicide: Blue Whale Challenge

The blue whale game is developed by the 22 yrs Old Russian student who was thrown out of the University from doing the Psychology majors. Well, the real reason is not known why did he developed such game but from the criminal investigation, it has been found the developer is a psychopath. He developed and created the game to clean the society and getting rid of those people who are of no value to the society and in future, they can be a threat to the world. Sounds like third grade Hollywood film story, isn’t it? The game has taken till date 130 lives alone in Russia, and then it has also become viral in the UK. The game became popular through the social media, though you may not find any images or the searches related to the blue whale game.

What Is The Fuss About?

blue whale game challenge
Several crime investigation agencies and another free body of the media have tried to verify the actual cause of the teen suicides in the countries because they all are linked to the blue whale challenge indirectly. There has been no legitimate proof that all the teen suicides are driven by the game, but yes, somewhere the self-harm acts on the body are related to the blue whale game. The game is spread across the Russia and UK, though other countries too are affected by the game. The increasing number of teen suicides has led the psychologist to question the digital media as well as the concern of the parents towards their children.
The psychologists put that the depressed and alone teenage children are prone to expose such games, as well as the peer pressure, plays an important role. After the game became viral because of the plot:
  • The educational institutions and schools have circulated the notice to the parents regarding the protection of the children from the game.
  • They are certainly advised to keep the check of their children’s social media account and their mobile phones.
  • There are has been various instances the children are the victim of the game because their friends have recommended them to play the one who has heard from the media.

What Should Be Done?

There are preventive measures to be careful about the game and the protecting the children from the blue whale challenge.
  • Keep asking about the life of your child and also know about their social media accounts.
  • Keep the check on their mobile usage and make sure they do not become the victim of the peer pressure. Express them how unique and beautiful they are and not to accept anything negative comment given to them by others.
  • Be around your children whenever they need and do not gamble your time with the material things for them.

Complete List Of Blue Whale Challenges

A Reddit user posted a completed list of tasks which were supposedly posted in a comment on a story about the game on a Russian news website. The list of 50 challenges has been translated from Russian.
  • Carve with a razor “f57” on your hand, send a photo to the curator.
  • Wake up at 4.20 a.m. and watch psychedelic and scary videos that curator sends you.
  • Cut your arm with a razor along your veins, but not too deep, only 3 cuts, send a photo to the curator.
  • Draw a whale on a sheet of paper, send a photo to curator.
  • If you are ready to “become a whale”, carve “YES” on your leg. If not, cut yourself many times (punish yourself).
  • Task with a cipher.
  • Carve “f40” on your hand, send a photo to curator.
  • Type “#i_am_whale” in your VKontakte status.
  • You have to overcome your fear.
  • Wake up at 4:20 a.m. and go to a roof (the higher the better)
  • Carve a whale on your hand with a razor, send a photo to curator.
  • Watch psychedelic and horror videos all day.
  • Listen to music that “they” (curators) send you.
  • Cut your lip.
  • Poke your hand with a needle many times
  • Do something painful to yourself, make yourself sick.
  • Go to the highest roof you can find, stand on the edge for some time.
  • Go to a bridge, stand on the edge.
  • Climb up a crane or at least try to do it
  • The curator checks if you are trustworthy.
  • Have a talk “with a whale” (with another player like you or with a curator) in Skype.
  • Go to a roof and sit on the edge with your legs dangling.
  • Another task with a cipher.
  • Secret task.
  • Have a meeting with a “whale.”
  • The curator tells you the date of your death and you have to accept it.
  • Wake up at 4:20 a.m. and go to rails (visit any railroad that you can find).
  • Don’t talk to anyone all day.
  • Make a vow that “you’re a whale.”
  • Everyday you wake up at 4:20am, watch horror videos, listen to music that “they” send you, make 1 cut on your body per day, talk “to a whale.”
  • Jump off a high building. Take your life.

Pink Whale Challenge

It is the very opposite to the blue whale challenge, and in fact, it has administered more than 100 volunteers for the campaign. The Brazilian developers have come with the positive and the loving challenges with the pink whale challenge; the tasks include the kindness, forgiveness, compassion and loving yourself and everyone around you. The game has taken already the toll on the popular OS platforms, unlike the Blue whale challenge not available on the smartphones.

Videos

Conclusion

The game is all about the stupidity and also how we have become the slaves of the digital media. There is a need to control and save ourselves from the cobweb of the social media which have become the cause of unhappiness. Several teenagers are exposed to the smartphones and the social media accounts, and this had accounted the confusion amongst them between right and wrong. The blue whale challenge developer, making the social media as the bait, has led to the destruction of the humankind. The crime investigation team and the psychologists have blamed the parents who do not restrict their children from the overuse of the social media because you can control the children and teach them what is right and what is wrong, but not the digital media.

avoid-scam
If you are serious about making money online, there are some things you should stay away from.
Unfortunately, the web is now filled with work from home “opportunities” that are really just scams.
Always make sure you keep distance from the following types of scams & time wasters:
Scam 1: Data entry jobs / work from home scams
If you’re reading uatricksworld, I know you won’t be interested in things like data entry. You’re smart enough to avoid it.
But, if you really are interested, then please stop. No two words make me cringe more than ‘data entry.’ I’m saying this because there are LOTS & LOTS of scams which are labeled as data entry.
Legitimate data entry jobs mostly consist of medical transcription, medical billing and clerical positions. Most of these jobs are extremely competitive and require training & experience before you can start working.
Scam 2: Get rich quick with Google
All get rich quick schemes are scams, this one is no different. Google’s ad program is good for bloggers and website owners, but you can only earn from it when you create your own content and work hard. Sites that promise you can make money easily from google are scams.
Scam 3: Get paid to surf the Web (Time Waster)
These types of work are really low paying not worth your time. They generally pay a few cents per day.
Scam 4: Get paid to read emails (Time Waster)
Again, very very low paying and not worth your time.
Scam 5: Surveys, Paid to Click PTC/GPT sites (Time Waster)
If a site says they will pay you for doing small things like clicking ads, stay away from it. The money you get paid will be very very LOW (typically you get less than Rs.100 after working for 1 month).
Surveys are not recommended especially if you’re living in india. This is because very few companies accept respondents from India. Which means your earnings will be very low.
Even though these type of sites are not scams, I don’t recommend them anymore mainly because it’s really not worth your time, filling surveys or clicking ads for tiny amounts daily. There are much better opportunities if you want to earn money online.
Finally, always remember this, any site which asks for registration fee to give you work is a scam. Be careful with these kind of sites.
I hope you got an idea of the things which you should stay away from.

Have you ever thought, you could make money by referring people to flipkart or amazon?
Play the video below to see how it’s done!

This way to make money online is called affiliate marketing.
In this post I’m going to walk you through the steps to start affiliate marketing in India.
To keep the video short & simple, we’ve covered just the basics there. All the steps shown in the video will be explained in detail in this article.
Let’s start with the basics:

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is simply:
A way to earn money by recommending products or services to other people.

This is how it works:

  1. You find a product you want to promote
  2. You sign up for their affiliate program
  3. You will get a special link (called as an affiliate link) which allows the company to see who clicked your link.
  4. You promote your affiliate link on the internet.
  5. When someone buys the product, you will be paid a commission.
There are hundreds of affiliate programs all over the internet for all types of products. But in India, the most popular affiliate programs are from Amazon and Flipkart.
So in this article we’ll focus on promoting products from these sites.
The best part about Amazon is, once someone has clicked your affiliate link you will earn commissions on any product bought by them in the next 24hrs. This means, you’ll be paid for not just the product you promote but for all products sold on amazon.
For example: Let’s say, A person clicks on your affiliate link at 9 a.m.
But buys nothing!
Again at 8 p.m, he/she goes to amazon directly & buys a product.
You’ll get the commission for the sale.
This is because when someone clicks your affiliate link a ‘cookie’ gets placed in the user’s browser and all purchases he/she makes within the next 24hrs, will be credited to you.

How to Start Affiliate Marketing in India

Follow the steps below to promote products from amazon and make sales.

STEP 1: Choose the type of product you want to promote

Visit this page on amazon and select a category which interests you the most.
Since you’ll be writing on this topic later, make sure you choose a topic which you’re familiar with.
The reason you need to choose one specific topic is because, it will make it easier for you to write for a specific audience. This is also called as selecting a ‘niche’.
Also, before you finalize on your topic, go to this page to see the commission rates of products available on Amazon.
To check the flipkart commission rates, click here.

STEP 3: Sign-up for the Amazon Affiliate Program

Once you’ve created your website, you can sign up for the affiliate program. If you’re thinking about choosing between either flipkart or amazon affiliate program, go for the one which has the higher commissions for the product category you’ve chosen.
If both has the same commission rate, go for amazon. Many affiliate marketers in India have said to have made more money in amazon than flipkart.
Amazon Affiliate Program: Sign-up here (recommended)
Flipkart Affiliate Program: Sign-up here
During registration amazon will ask you to enter your website address and a few other details.
Even if you haven’t added any content to your site yet, tell them how you plan to promote products on your site and they’ll approve it.

STEP 4: Select the item you’re going to promote

If you already know the product you’re going to promote, then go ahead and search the product name in the search box provided.
If you’re not sure yet, then it’s a good idea to take help from amazon and see which products are selling well.
To do this:
  1. Go to the amazon bestsellers page.
  2. Select your category from the left side. You’ll see a list of the top selling products in that category.
  3. Pick a product which you like (preferably one with a lot of positive reviews).
When you promote a product which is already selling well it is a lot easier to get people to buy it compared to promoting an unknown product.

STEP 5: Write content about the product

Based on the product you’ve chosen, decide on what article you want to write.
There are many different types of content you can write. I’ve listed the most popular types of content for affiliate marketing below:

5 Types of Content you can Write:

  1. “How to” articles & tutorials: These are the best as they add a lot of value to your readers. They also generate sales very easily if done correctly. For example, “How to get rid of pimples” article with links to products which has worked well for you.
  2. Review articles: You can write about products you’ve tried personally and help people decide whether to buy the product or not.
  3. Comparison articles: Compare two or more similar products. Eg. Samsung S6 vs iPhone 6s
  4. Content Curation: This is where you collect & make a useful list products which are helpful to others.
  5. Offer or Discount articles where you share the best deals and coupons codes of products related to your topic.
So, these are the types of content you can post to promote your affiliate link.
Always make sure that your visitors get a benefit out of your site.

How to Add your Affiliate Link

When you’re signed into amazon associates, you’ll see a grey bar at the top of all product pages.
To get your affiliate link for a product, simply click “link to this page”.
Right click in the preview area and copy the link address (this is your affiliate link).
Click the buy button in your article and click edit.
Select link to custom URL & paste the link. Also check “open link in a new tab”.
Click update & publish the article.
Now, when you click the buy button displayed on the page, it’ll take the user to your affiliate link. This allows them to buy the product on amazon.

How to check your earnings?

You can check your earnings on the amazon associate page.
When someone buys something using your affiliate link it will show up on your earning report page.
affiliate-marketing-sales

So, this is how you can promote products using your affiliate link.
All of these steps can be used on any ecommerce site of your choice. Eg: Flipkart, Snapdeal, Jabong, etc.
I hope this post helps you kickstart your own affiliate marketing site.
Once you figure out how to add value to your readers, it will be very easy to attract traffic and get sales.
If you have any doubts or questions, share them in the comments below.
Also leave a comment saying the topic you want to start your website on.

content-writingIf you’re in urgent need of money & want to earn immediately, you only have a few options available online.
Many popular methods to earn online (like blogging) usually takes a long time to earn good income.
So, today, I’m very excited to share a method which helps you earn Rs.22,500 (approximately) every month.
The best part is:
  • This method is completely free.
  • You can start earning today!
Okay, lets begin:
The method I’m talking about is called Article Writing.
There is a BIG demand for articles on the internet right now!
Many website owners and businesses are looking for unique articles to post on their website.
These people (clients) post their requirement on a website called iWriter.
You can earn money by writing articles for them. This process is also know as content writing.

Steps to earn money:

  1. First, choose a topic posted by a client in iWriter.
  2. Search the topic on google & read existing articles.
  3. Understand what the topic is about.
  4. Write a new article on that topic.
  5. Earn money once the client approves the article.

The important thing to note here is:

It’s not necessary that you need to know about the topic you’re going to write.
Just do your research on google & then start writing.
I myself have earned money by using this method.

How much will I earn per article?

When you start, you will earn about $2.5 USD per 500 word article. In rupees that comes to about Rs.150.
So, if you write at least 5 articles per day, you’ll be able to earn Rs.22,500 per month.

Calculation:

1 article = Rs.150
30 days X 5 articles = 150 Articles
150 articles X Rs.150 = Rs.22,500
As you become a more experienced writer, your earnings per article will double! I’ll explain this later in this post.

How much time it takes to write an article?

Personally, I was able to research & write ONE article (500 words) in about 1hr 30mins.
Many people will be able to do it within 1 hr.
Your time will vary depending on your writing & research speed.

How will I get my payment?

iWriter pays you through PayPal.
Click here to create your free PayPal account.
You need to earn a minimum of $20 to request your payment from iWriter.
After iWriter sends the money to your paypal a/c, you can easily transfer it to your bank a/c in India.

How to start?

First, you need to create your account on iWriter.
Follow the steps below:
  1. Go to iWriter.com
  2. Click ‘Write Content’
  3. Enter your details & sign-up
After you complete the sign-up, this dashboard will appear:
iwriter-dashboard
That’s it!
Now, you can work on projects/jobs posted by clients.

How to start writing?

Watch the video below to learn about writing content.

Once you’re logged in, click ‘Write Content’ in the top menu.
click-write-content
You’ll be given a list of available topics that you can choose to write on.
Since you’re a new writer you’ll only be able to write content available for standard writers.
So, scroll down below the yellow line to see the topics available for you.
Choose any topic you like and click ‘+’ icon as shown in the image below.
write-content-page

After you click the ‘+’ symbol, choose a project and read the ‘Special Instructions’ carefully to understand about the requester’s need.
Then click ‘Write Article’.

The Basic English Test

When you click ‘Write Article’ for the first time, iWriter will ask you to take a small test.
This test will check your basic English skills.
This is to ensure good quality articles to clients.
The test consists of 15 questions out of which you must answer at least 13 questions correctly to pass.
If you have good English knowledge, it should be very easy to pass.
Once the test is passed, you’ll never have to take a test again. You can start writing any number of articles for clients.
If you’ve failed the test, don’t worry as they’ll give you another chance after few days.
writing-test-passed

Once you’ve passed the test, click ‘write article’ again to start writing the article you chose.
A time limit box will appear on the right hand side corner of the page.
Make sure you submit your article before the time ends.
On the top, all the instructions relating to the article will be shown including the minimum word limit.
Try to include the keywords mentioned by the requester in the article.
After reading the “Special Instructions”, refer to various articles that are already available on the topic by searching on Google.
Then prepare a quick outline of the article (like an index) on a notepad.
After you’ve done enough research and got a good idea about the topic, start writing.
There can be more words than the specified word count, but not less than that.
Make sure to keep the article crisp and to the point.
After you’re done with the write-up, submit your article.

Getting your article approved

Once you submit the article, the client will then receive the article after a Copyscape verification.
Copyscape basically checks whether the submitted article is original and not directly copy-pasted from some other site.
Once the client receives the article, he/she may then approve or reject it.
If you follow all the instructions given and write a good article (without spelling or grammar mistakes), your article will surely get approved.
Once the client accepts the article, the funds will be transferred to your account immediately. You’ll receive a confirmation email like this one:
content-writing-approved
After your article gets approved
If the article is rejected then the client will not be able to download the article. So, there is no way he is going to derive any benefit from your article.
If your client does not review the article within 3 days, iWriter automatically approves it and the money will be credited to your account.
He will also give you a rating based on your performance.
These ratings will help you get promoted to a Premium/Elite writer as you write more articles.
There are 3 different levels in iWriter:
Standard Writer: When you join iWriter, you automatically become a standard writer. The maximum pay is 4$ and the word limit for an article is close to 700 words.
Premium Writer: Once your article gets accepted by a client. He will rate your writing out of 5 stars. If you get more than 4 stars from at least 25 requesters, then you’ll become a premium writer. The payout ranges from 4-12$, including a word limit of maximum 1200 words.
Elite Writer: To become an elite writer, you must have a rating of 4.6 stars or more from at least 30 requesters. The payout is more than 8$ ranging to 100$ and word count is nearly 2000 words.

How to transfer money from iWriter to bank account in India?

The minimum payout of iWriter is $20, which means you need to earn at least 20$ to withdraw your earnings.
$20 can be earned by writing at least 8 articles (500 word).
After you reach 20$, you must enter your PayPal email ID in your account profile, to receive the payment to your PayPal a/c. It can be added earlier too.
Then, in about 2-3 days, your PayPal account will be credited.
After you receive your funds in your PayPal account, you can transfer it to your bank account in India.
If you don’t have a PayPal account, click here to make one.
That’s all.
This is how you can make money online through content writing jobs.
I hope this blog post helps you to earn money online through freelance writing.
If you have any doubts or queries, post in the comments section below. I’ll be happy to help.
Thanks for reading all the way.

freelance-jobsI think you’ll agree with me when I say:
Earning money online is hard.
You’ll come across fraudsters asking for registration fees & surveys/PTC sites which never pay you.
Sometimes you might feel like you’re wasting your time, earning nothing.
This is why you need to know about freelance jobs.
Freelance is where you solve a client’s problems or needs with your skills and get paid for it.
Here’s the best part:
– You never have to worry about whether you’ll be paid or not.
– You don’t have to pay a single rupee to start earning.
– and you’ll earn money by doing what you’re good at.
This is the basic idea of how freelancing works:
  1. A client posts a task on a freelance site.
  2. You apply for the task telling the client why you’re suitable for the task.
  3. He/she review’s your profile and selects you.
  4. You complete the task.
  5. You get paid.
Freelancing has helped thousands of people make extra income, working from their home.
Many even quit their jobs once they start earning a steady stream of income via freelancing.
After reading this post, you’ll know how to start freelancing in the field you’re skilled in.
Throughout this article I’ll be using a popular freelance site called ‘upwork’. But you can apply the same method to any freelance site.
I recommend upwork for beginners because it’s the most popular site right now. Thousands of new jobs are posted there, every day.
Freelancing is perfect for people who are skilled at something.
But, even if you don’t have any skills right now, you can learn the skills needed for the field you’re interested in.
Follow the step-by-step process to get started:

STEP 1: Choose the field you want to work in

  1. First, go to this page. You will see a list of various fields you can work in.
  2. Take a look at the different categories slowly with patience. I know it’s a long list but if you take time you might find something which you truly love to do.
  3. Select the field in which you are most skilled or experienced in. (or simply select a field which you’re interested.)
  4. Take a look at all the jobs posted in that category.
  5. See if you can complete some of them. If you find that you can do it, proceed to the next step.
If you find that you do not have the skills required to complete the task, try picking a different category from the left sidebar.
The simplest jobs which most people can do are listed under the Writing, Admin Support & Translation section.
If you’re still not able to find anything suitable for you, consider learning the skills required for the jobs you like to do. Know that, everything and anything you want to learn is a Google search away.

STEP 2: Join Upwork & Create your Profile

Found tasks you can complete?
Yes?
Great!
Now you can register and start creating your profile.
Nearly all clients, who are interested in working with you, will check out your profile page to evaluate you.
So you’ll need to make it attractive to land more projects.
Watch the video below to see this process:

To get some ideas & inspiration for building your profile, take a look at other freelancer’s profiles in your field.
To do that, first go to this page, choose your field again and select a freelancer.
Most people are lazy and write only 2 or 3 lines in their description. Such kind of profiles rarely gets hired. So this is your chance to get an easy advantage by not being lazy and win more jobs.
The image below gives a comparison of a good vs a bad profile:
good-vs-bad-profiles

The following are the things that should be in your upwork profile:
  1. Your photo: A high quality smiling headshot of yourself.
  2. A Professional Title
  3. Overview : List your competitive advantages & strengths (i.e. things that make you unique or special). Try to write everything from client’s perspective. For example: Say what the client will get by hiring you, how will you will solve their problem?; etc. Strictly avoid typos and grammatical errors.
  4. Hourly rate : Select your hourly rate based on other freelancers in your field.
  5. Portfolio (very important): Upload some of your work samples you’ve created in the past.
If you don’t have any samples to show, start creating it now. It doesn’t have to be the work that you did for clients. It can be something which you did for practice also.
For example If you’re a writer, you simply can write an article and add it to your portfolio; or if you’re a designer, you can create a logo for an imaginary company and upload the image.
Again, if you need ideas, see the profiles of top freelancers in your field.
Don’t worry about making your profile perfect yet. You can tweak it over time.
Once you’re done, submit your profile and choose the free plan: Freelancer Basic.
After you submit your profile, upwork team will review it to check for quality. It usually takes about 3-5 hours.
While you wait for approval, try taking a few skill tests to make your profile even more attractive.

STEP 3: Bidding on Your First Job

freelance-jobs-bidding

Now comes the exciting part: Bidding on jobs
Once your profile is approved, it’s time to start bidding on jobs posted by clients.
This is done by submitting a proposal.
Since you’ll be competing with other freelancers, your proposal is easily the most important factor in winning the job.
A proposal is where you tell the client why you’re suitable for the job and the price at which you can do it for.
To submit a proposal, first click ‘find jobs’. You’ll see a list of jobs suitable for your skills. Scroll through the list to find jobs you’re interested in.
You’ll find two types of jobs:
1. Fixed price jobs:
In fixed price jobs you get paid a specific amount on completion of the task.
2. Hourly jobs:
Hourly jobs are jobs which pays based on how long you work. For example your hourly rate is $10 and you work on a job for 5 hrs, you will get paid about $50.
Once you find a job you like, click it and read the job description carefully to understand what the client needs.
If you’re interested, click submit a proposal.
Remember: You can bid on about 30 jobs per month as a free member on upwork. So keep these points in mind when you’re bidding:
  • The newer the job, the better it is. If it’s a old job posted few days ago and the client is already interviewing several other candidates, then it is better to skip that job and apply for another one.
  • Prefer clients with high hire rate and a good rating.
Don’t bid on every project.
Before you write your proposal, it’s very important to understand the biggest concern on every client’s mind when hiring. It is this:
“Can you deliver?”
In other words:
“Do you have the ability to do what the job requires?”
So it is very important to address the client’s needs in your proposal. Tell the client you can get the results that he is looking for.
Clients are smart enough to know the difference between a proposal written specifically for them, and a proposal that was copy-and-pasted.

Download these Proposal Examples for Free!

Most people use a generic copy-pasted robotic cover letters. So stand out from them by personalizing your proposal as much as possible.
Here are some tips & tricks to write a better proposal & win your first project:
  • Ask questions: Ask good questions if some information is missing from the job description. This lets the client know that you are knowledgeable and can execute the job correctly.
  • Show you’re a good listener: If the client has asked any question, answer them in your proposal.
  • Provide similar samples: Add a link to your work sample which is relevant to the job. Share only your best works.
  • Tell them you’re new & give a discount: Since you’re new, it is actually better to tell the client that this is your first time on upwork even though you have a good experience in the field. Also mention you are willing to give a discount since he/she will be your first client on upwork.
  • Use speed to your advantage: When you’re trying to get your first job, speed is your weapon. Try to bid on the project as soon as it’s posted and get the conversation started with the employer. The trick is to impress the client before everyone else bids. Keep refreshing your Job Feed page and wait until a project shows up that matches your skills.
  • Keep it short: Keep your proposal short and to the point. Minimize talking too much about yourself and focus on what the client will get from hiring you. Talk about how you’re going to approach the job.
  • Show your enthusiasm: Let the person know you want to start the project soon. Example: Tell the client you can start working on the project as soon as he/she picks your bid.
  • Include time estimation: Tell the client how fast you can complete the job.
Try to do quick jobs that are easy to complete in a short period of time. This will help you get feedback quickly.

How to Choose Your Pricing:

When you’re choosing your price for the job, never give the impression that you’re a cheap freelancer.
Every client wants their project to get the best results. If you bid too low, he/she will think you’re desperate to get the job and won’t provide the same quality as other freelancers.
Bidding low prices will only attract small and petty clients who are better to be avoided.
Therefore when you start, I recommend bidding the average market rate for the job (under the client’s budget). You can also strategically place your bid slightly below the average bid. Also try using the discount trick as stated above.
Do a research on your market and get an idea of the average market rates for the job.

After submitting your proposal:

If a client responds to your proposal, always try to reply as quickly as possible. In general, try to be online as often as you can if you are looking for your first job.

STEP 4: Preparing / Setting expectations

When a potential client is interested in you, some might want to talk/chat with you before they give you the job.
A lot of clients use skype for this purpose, so make sure it’s installed on your computer.

Upwork Payment Protection:

Upwork has a feature called ‘escrow’, which acts as a protection for both you and the client.
An escrow account is essentially a holding tank. Before any work begins, the client should fund the escrow. These funds are held by upwork temporarily until the work is completed.
Once the client funds the escrow, you can start working on the project.
When the job is finished, submit your work and mark the job as ‘completed’. The client will be notified and will verify your work.
If he/she is satisfied, they’ll approve it and the funds will be released to you. You get the payment.
If the client is not satisfied, he/she might request some changes to be made. Do the revisions & submit for approval again.
In case the client refuses to pay for a completed job, they will not get back the money (unless you approve) and you have the ability to file a dispute. Upwork will then start assisting in solving the issue.

Choosing Your Payment Terms

Once you’re hired it’s recommended to clarify your payment terms and the work you’ll be delivering to the client.
Before you start working, make sure the client has funded the escrow. If not tell the client that you can start working only after he/she has funded the escrow.
Also agree on the things you’ll be delivering to the client (these are called ‘deliverables’). For example, a logo, a 500-word article, etc are deliverables.
Specify the limits for the work, such as the number of words in the article.
For large projects: Before any work begins, you and your client should break up the work into small parts (called milestones) and decide how much should be paid for completion of each milestone.
For example, if the job requires you to write 5 articles, make each article as a milestone and ask the client to release funds on completion of each article separately.
For small projects: It’s okay to work without escrow on one condition: The client should have a good rating & feedback from other freelancers. If the client is new, do not agree to work without them funding the escrow first.
Be clear on what the client wants:
Use a google doc and allow the client to list all the features they want. Specify the limits such as the number of words for article.
Clearly identify things which you cannot do and tell the client which features will cost more.
This way if the client is asking for more than agreed, you can clearly show them and request additional payment for extra features they’re asking for.

STEP 5:  You’re Hired: Go do an awesome job

Once you start working, communicate with the client & keep them updated.
Your goal should be the client’s satisfaction because that will highly increase your chance of getting more work in the future.
Remember, your online reputation is a major driver in growing your business.
So be sure to go the extra mile to do a great job to get good feedback.
PRO Tip: After you complete the job & the client is satisfied, ask for more projects & referrals. Tell the client about other services you provide.

PayPal Referral Program: Earn up to $100 by inviting other users to PayPal

This is going to be interesting for every U.S. PayPal account holder. You now have the chance to earn up to $100 by referring people to PayPal.
For those that don’t know, PayPal is one of the most popular web tools for people who work online & need to get paid.
Back in the days when PayPal started, they used to have a referral program where they were offering people $20 if they opened an account and $20 if they referred someone. However, PayPal then became so popular that they completely removed their referral program.
For the past several years, PayPal was undoubtedly the winner of the online payment system services. However, in the past two years or so, things have changed & many new players are coming into this field every day. The number of PayPal alternatives are increasing; we also can’t ignore the popularity of Bitcoin in the past few years.
I can’t claim that these are the reasons why PayPal is bringing back their referral program, but it would make sense.
Regardless of the reasons, the PayPal referral program is back.

PayPal referral program: Earn $5 for every referred user

The PayPal referral program is available for anyone who has a U.S. PayPal account in good standing. If this sounds like you, let’s go ahead & learn how you can earn up to $100 by inviting others to join PayPal.
You should also note that the users who are joining on your invitation will also be getting $5 when they open a U.S. PayPal account & complete an eligible transaction within 14 days of signing up.
An “eligible transaction” means an online checkout payment of at least $5 USD which gets marked as “complete” in the referee’s account and which has not been canceled, refunded, or reversed by either the referee or the seller.
Before I add more, let me show you how to get your PayPal referral link.

How to get your PayPal referral link:

As I mentioned above, this option is available for anyone who has a U.S. PayPal account in good standing. To get your referral link, use the PayPal mobile app. If you haven’t started using it yet, simply download the app by searching for it in the Google Play store or the iOS App store.
Steps for PayPal app:
  • Log in to the PayPayl mobile app.
  • Click on the gear icon at the top right (settings button).
  • Click on “Invite a friend and get $5”.

  • Click on “Share an invite” or “Choose contacts” if you want to directly invite a contact from your phone.
If you need your referral link for posting on a blog or message board, click on “Share an invite” & select your email. Send an email to yourself & you will have your personal PayPal referral link.
I have tested & verified this on my U.S. PayPal account & it works seamlessly.
Here are a few fine points about the PayPal affiliate program:
  • You can earn maximum of $100.
  • Only allowed to send to personal contacts.
  • Not allowed to post publically where people who are not personal contacts can see it.
  • Here are the complete terms.
If you post your referral link on any third party website, such as a social media website, you must also comply with that website’s terms of use.
Please note that whenever you decide to share your referral link, you must tell your referees that you will receive a commission from PayPal if they sign up and complete an eligible transaction. Failure to disclose this information is a violation of the terms and could result in PayPal disqualifying you from the program, and may result in you forfeiting any rewards you would otherwise have earned through the program.
If this is your first time becoming a part of such a program, you should read our earlier guide on FTC affiliate disclosures.
Again, this is for people who are operating within U.S. boundaries. I hope in upcoming days, PayPal allows users outside the U.S.A to reap the benefits of their affiliate program as well. Until then, it’s a good time for U.S. PayPal users to get a chance to earn up to $100 by recommending other users.
Here are a few guides to learn more about PayPal:

Go ahead & make some money!

If you enjoyed this post, do share it with your friends & family in the U.S.A about this referral program from PayPal. Maybe you can refer them and get $5!
